You don't have to travel far or to exotic places to get a good bird image. With a little setup work and a few simple guidelines, you can get some great shots right in your own backyard. This class, designed for the beginner bird photographer, covers the basics on how to consistently get great bird images close to home. Starting with the fundamentals of setting up your backyard for success, moving to training your local birds, adding image composition tips, and providing techniques to capture great images, this class gives a great overview of backyard songbird photography. Topics covered include: setting up your yard for success, use of feeders and water, perch selection, train and outwit your local birds, quality bird image composition rules, use of backgrounds, basic camera settings, gear overview and recommendations.

 

Chris Klapheke is a bird and wildlife photographer hailing from Louisville, KY.  After many years on the workshop trail, Chris turned his photographic avocation into a business, and now owns and operates Outdoor Photo Gear, which provides specialized equipment for bird and wildlife photographers worldwide.
